About Browser & Network Info

Browser & Network Info by ToolTux is a privacy-focused client environment inspector built for frontend developers, QA testers, support teams, and everyday users. When reproducing UI layout issues, diagnosing locale formatting bugs, or checking what technical signals a web browser exposes through standard JavaScript APIs, having a clean summary in one tab saves time. This utility reads only local properties available inside your browser—including your full HTTP User-Agent string, primary and preferred language tags, IANA timezone name, physical screen resolution, live viewport width and height, device pixel ratio, cookie availability, online/offline state, and optional Network Information API connection hints (such as effective connection type, estimated downlink bandwidth, round-trip time, and Data Saver status) when your browser supports them. It makes zero external lookup requests and does not query your public IP address, ISP, or physical location.

View client-side environment details exposed locally by your browser—user agent, preferred languages, IANA timezone, screen resolution, live viewport size, pixel ratio, cookie status, and Network Information API estimates—without external IP or geolocation lookups.

How to Use Browser & Network Info

  1. Open Browser & Network Info to view the properties your current browser exposes locally.
  2. Resize your browser window to watch the live viewport dimensions and device pixel ratio update in real time.
  3. Inspect your User-Agent string, preferred language order, IANA timezone, and cookie support state.
  4. Review optional Network Information API estimates (effectiveType, downlink, RTT, and Data Saver) on Chromium-based browsers that expose navigator.connection.
  5. Click Copy Report to copy a clean plain-text environment summary for bug reports or QA tickets.

Common Use Cases

  • Attaching accurate browser User-Agent, viewport size, pixel ratio, and timezone details to frontend bug reports.
  • Verifying browser locale, timezone, and cookie settings when testing internationalized web applications.
  • Understanding which device and connection hints modern browsers expose to client-side JavaScript without external APIs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this tool look up my public IP address or physical location?
No. It reads only local browser properties (such as navigator and window.screen) and never contacts an external IP or geolocation service.
Why is the Network Information API section hidden in some browsers?
Firefox and Safari do not expose navigator.connection for privacy reasons, so connection hints appear only in browsers that implement that API.
What is the difference between Screen Resolution and Viewport Size?
Screen Resolution reflects your display dimensions in CSS pixels, while Viewport Size measures the active inner browser window area and updates live as you resize.
Is any of my browser information stored on a server by this tool?
No. Every value is read directly from your browser in memory, and nothing is sent to an external API.
