1. Agreement to Terms & Modifications
Key Takeaway: Using ToolTux constitutes binding agreement to these terms and any subsequent updates.
By accessing or utilizing ToolTux via web browser, API, or mobile device, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be legally bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"), along with our Privacy Policy.
ToolTux reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify, update, or replace any portion of these Terms. Updates take effect immediately upon publication on this page with the revised "Effective Date". Continued use of our web utilities following any modification constitutes affirmative acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Description of Services & Directory Scope
Key Takeaway: ToolTux provides free browser utilities, code formatters, design generators, cybersecurity learning tools, and curated links.
ToolTux operates a curated online platform and web utility suite offering free browser-based developer formatters, encoders, CSS and image design generators, text and PDF utilities, SEO tag generators, cybersecurity learning tools, hosted sandbox workspaces, and directory links.
Most direct utilities on ToolTux run client-side inside your web browser without requiring mandatory account creation, credit cards, or subscription paywalls, while hosted sandbox embeds, external directory links, and community features interact with external hosts or our servers as detailed in our Privacy Policy.
3. Commercial Freedom & Ownership of Generated Outputs
Key Takeaway: You retain 100% intellectual property ownership of all documents, compressed images, QR codes, CSS, and formatted code you create.
Your Output Belongs Entirely to You: Any exported PDF document, compressed image, QR code, CSS stylesheet, meta tag or robots.txt snippet, cryptographic hash, or formatted code created through your use of ToolTux's utilities is your exclusive property.
ToolTux asserts zero intellectual property claims, royalties, or licensing restrictions over your generated content. You are granted complete freedom to use, distribute, sell, or publish outputs for personal, educational, commercial, client, and enterprise applications without attribution requirements.
4. Acceptable Fair Use & Prohibited Activities
Key Takeaway: Prohibits automated stress testing, malicious script injection, scraping, and reverse-engineering.
To preserve performance, reliability, and security for all global visitors, you agree not to:
- Execute automated high-frequency request floods, denial-of-service (DoS/DDoS) stress tests, or scraping routines that degrade server infrastructure.
- Attempt to bypass, reverse-engineer, or breach administrative controls, authentication tokens, or restricted routes.
- Use our web tools to format, compile, generate, or propagate malicious software, phishing payloads, ransomware, or illegal material.
- Frame, replicate, or re-brand ToolTux's interface as a paid service without express prior written consent from the administration.
5. Client-Side Execution, Privacy & Data Security
Key Takeaway: Most direct tools process input in your browser; hosted embeds and external links contact external hosts, and voluntary submissions are stored on our servers.
Most direct utilities on ToolTux—such as code formatters, encoders, password and hash utilities, image compression, QR code generation, and text or PDF tools—process your input locally inside your browser's JavaScript engine. However, some features (such as hosted Sandbox subdomain embeds, external directory tool links, and user-supplied HTML or Markdown referencing external URLs) connect your browser to external services or hosts as described in our Privacy Policy, so you should not enter confidential secrets or sensitive credentials into external or embedded tools.
Comments, reviews, tool and blog likes, and contact messages that you choose to submit—along with aggregate view counts and standard server access logs—are transmitted to and stored on our servers and Google Firebase / Cloud Firestore database. Interface preferences (such as Dark Mode theme, cookie consent choices, and recent search queries) are stored in your browser's local storage and can be cleared at any time.
6. Algorithmic Disclaimers & "As-Is" Warranty
Key Takeaway: Tools are provided on an as-is basis without warranties; always verify critical outputs before production use.
All tools, formatters, and generators provided on ToolTux are delivered strictly on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, statutory, or implied.
While our algorithms are developed according to standard technical specifications, ToolTux makes no representations or warranties regarding mathematical infallibility, legal compliance, or suitability for statutory filings. You are advised to independently verify critical security, legal, and engineering outputs before relying upon them.
7. Third-Party Links, External Utilities & Affiliates
Key Takeaway: External links lead to third-party domains governed by their own independent terms and policies.
ToolTux includes curated links to external third-party software, developer repositories, hosted sandbox tools, and partner channels (including YouTube, GitHub, and independent web apps).
We do not operate, control, or assume liability for the practices, availability, privacy policies, or content of third-party domains. Your engagement with external sites is governed entirely by their respective terms of service.
8. Service Availability, Maintenance & Updates
Key Takeaway: We continuously improve the platform and may perform upgrades or modify tool offerings as needed.
We endeavor to maintain reliable availability for our web utility suite. However, ToolTux reserves the right to momentarily suspend access for scheduled maintenance, performance optimization, security updates, or emergency infrastructure patches.
We reserve the right to introduce new tools, deprecate outdated utilities, or modify existing algorithms without prior notice.
9. Limitation of Liability & Indemnification
Key Takeaway: Total liability is limited to the greatest extent allowed under applicable law for free services.
To the maximum extent permitted under applicable law, in no event shall ToolTux, its creators, maintainers, operators, or affiliates be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, special, or consequential damages resulting from your use of, or inability to use, our free utilities.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ToolTux and its operators from any claims, liabilities, damages, and legal expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of generated outputs.
10. Intellectual Property, DMCA & Trademark Notice
Key Takeaway: Procedures for reporting copyright concerns and protecting proprietary trademarks.
ToolTux respects the intellectual property rights of creators and organizations. The brand name, custom graphics, logo, site architecture, and styling of ToolTux are proprietary assets protected under intellectual property laws.
